Save your saved game for when Mass Effect 3 comes out. I believe how you finished 2 will have an effect on how Mass Effect 3 starts.

Congrats! Rip up a piece of paper into tiny pieces, throw them up in the air, do a little dance and start a new game and hold on tight until ME 3 comes out!
