do you NEED to use the motorcycle in half life 2

I'm stuck on this ramp part where you use stuff around you as weight to keep this chamber thing weighted and it makes a ramp rise and i was wondering if I needed to have a motorcycle because if so then i'm a LONG way from getting it

Yes, you need to ride the motorcycle thing in the long vehicle segment of Half Life 2. And what do you mean you're a long way from getting it? Did you ditch it or something?
