There's a lot of things wrong with it...and not because you want to play the game.
Unfortunately, this happens all the time. Developers don't have enough resources, investors don't have enough money, decisions get made, people get laid off. We can whine about all the cancelled games, but to be honest, this is a country that runs on money.
The ones with money make the decisions.

Honestly it probably wasn't wrong but right. For everything you know about why this game got cancelled there are 10 other reasons you don't know. Making a game is as much of a business decision as it is a creative process. If it was cancelled it could be a blessing in disguise.
Look at it this way instead of releasing a half baked product with little good in it (cough cough Duke Nukem Forever cough cough) but instead cancelled the project. After playing so many bad games, I am glad to see cancelled games no matter what and why they are. It is just a disaster waiting to happen.
