right now it seems like everybody is talking about call of duty:black ops. is it really that good of a game 2 get?

Modern Warfare 2. It is much more polished than Black Ops. When Modern Warfare 3 comes out I will assume that will take over the throne as best CoD game. I feel that Treyarch did not put enough effort into producing Black Ops and completely abandoned the PS3 version. I would only play Black Ops on X360. However, if you're looking for a great shooting game I would suggest Bad Company 2, in my opinion it is better than the CoD games.

No. IMO Modern Warfare 2 is a lot better that Black Ops. Infinity Ward beats Treyarch. I own both and I still play MW2.

I will agree with everyone that has posted here. The Modern Warfare Series is more polished and has better overall gameplay. I think what Treyarch needs to see is that extra gore and blood will not draw as many customers as an overall better game.

Everybody is talking about it because its the most reason and the fanbase moves towards the most recent, when the next CoD comes out people will forget about blackops like they did MW2 its completely normal.
Best CoD is an indecisive arguement because its a franchise and they are all very different unless you rate them by a linear system via Graphics, Story, Engine, Etc,.
Everyone has and should have a preference me for example, i dont like BO, but really like MW2 and CoD4.

I love the extra gore, especially in WaW. Its much better than the paperclip cut you get in the modern warfare. I dont know why everyone likes complaining about black ops. I dont see a "modern warfare" in front of the name so why would they be so similar?
Also i bought a $60 game to have fun with it. Video games are for fun. I buy/rent games to chill out and play with friends and stuff. People need to relax and relize that it is just a game

Call of duty 2, the only game in the series I still play to this day. a good job by dark matter and treyarch. The modern warfare games are ok, but not as memorable

The best is call of duty 4. the campaign revolutionized gameplay after this. great graphics and award winning multiplayer. i think weapons were at their best in this game. killstreaks were simple unlike MW2 were i cant play a game without 10 year olds boosting nukes each match. black ops dosent feel right with being in 1968 and weilding weapons that arent invented until 30 years later.
