Q: Mass Effect carry-over saves

Mass Effect carry-over saves

I was wondering because, I know that you can carry saves over from one game to the next (Mass Effect 1 --> Mass Effect 2), but are there really any huge advantages to it? Because I returned the first one, and I just realized that I missed out on a lot of gameplay being a soldier, without biotics or anything. So what are the advantages and possible disadvantages of using a previously saved character from an earlier game?

All the choices you made in the previous game will come into effect in your story and your story will play out the way you shaped it with your decisions and you will have a completely personal story, probably different from anyone else's, and you will feel good about it. I suggest doing it.

You have a stronger character basically. More health, stronger attacks, etc etc. It just makes things a little easier when playing the 2nd game.

Actually, i'm pretty sure that N1TT0 is completely wrong. everyone starts with the same stats, but what it will affect is the story. I haven't started an ONLY Mass Effect 2 story but I'm pretty sure that without the first Mass Effect, you probably wouldn't have Wrex in the 2nd one. So as bajeet said, it's a more personalized story and probably more familiarity with what's going on
