Nintendogs-I went on bark mode and my friend and they got a breed but I didnt what happend?

Ok this is what happened,my friend and I went on bark mode on nintendogs and she brought her chihuahua and I brought my german shepard and I don't have the chihuahua and she didn't have the german shepard so when I left and she left it said she got the german shepard but I didn't get the chihuahua WHAT HAPPENED!?Will I be able to get the chihuahua from her or not?

I would suggest just trying it again. sometimes it doesn't catch. now that she has the german shepard, maybe this go round you'll get the hairless rat..*cough* I mean the Chihuahua
