Dunmer & Custom stealth class all the way! Sneaking + Marksman = Awesome

I usually always play human first in any fantasy game. That being said, in the elder scrolls series I like choosing the nord. I'll most likely focus on up close and personal combat with stealth and marksmanship taking up the rear. I tend to avoid mana users because I don't like having to wait to kill more things :D

With the Elder Scrolls series, i tend to put in several hundred hours, with all types of character combinations. I normally start out with an Orc Warrior, simply cause i find it easier to SMASH my way through the game.
After familiarizing myself with the environment a little, i will try all the others, eventually.
I find that using a magik based character is a little tougher from the start, but is also more rewarding as you progress, and i tend to save that for last.
