Nintendo just announced a co-op version of Super Mario Bros. for the Wii. Will this make you buy a Wii if you don't have one yet?

I played it at the show. It's pretty fun, but nothing to get super duper excited about. I was actually getting a little annoyed with the people I was playing with. There can be a lot of chaos with four players jumping around at the same time. Level designs are pretty good, but they almost seem a bit too short and simplistic, like classic Mario levels that have been severely dumbed down.

I'm actually pretty stoked about this, the return of TRUE 2d side scrollers with Megaman 9 made me all giddy. So, to see Nintendo bringing back Mario, in 2D scroller fashion, with 4 player coop. sounds awesome.

It's a Mario Bros game so I'm sure it will be a blast, but I'm not too excited about it...I dunno I think Nintendo still has some making up to do after pissing on gamers at last years conference. This years was a decent start though.

Actually getting back to serious 2D platforming is worthy of at least a some respect, I'll be watching with interest. No, it won't make me buy a Wii, their "enchanted flail of gimmickry" control scheme slammed that particular door shut and shut it will remain.
