Not much info has been released on the setting or the main character. If you've played Brotherhood, then you know that there is a chance a huge part of the next game will be played from Desmond's perspective unless they decide to spread out the "current" events into many games.

I'm personally hoping for a game set in either ancient China, Japan, Russia, maybe during the french revolution, or maybe even during some of the West's history [civil war, things of the sort].

mostly in rome forgot and you dont just play in anchient rome u also play in the future were theres cars instead of horses technology and of course the awsome hardcore but this game is a game u definitly want 2 play and the chepest place 2 get it is gamefly

Assassin's Creed II producer Vincent Pontbriand was questioned about UbisoftMontreal's upcoming sequel and during the discussion he even mentions the next gaqme. Whewn asked if they plan to do Assassin's Creed III, he replied "yeah, of course."

Rumors of AC out late 2011 but I doubt it. The story is set in 2012 so I bet the last game will be out Dec of next year. They have said it is a trilogy but I hope they keep it going in some way.
