Heh, Yes there is! GIANT ONES!! These spiders have the ability to hit you for some damage plus give you poison to go along with it. However, if you defeat one, the items left over you can usually use to combat the poison effects by making a "cure all poison" potion with you alchemy skill!

Yes there are spiders. I played the game for 40+ hours. There are 3 in the first online campaign mission.
