Although I've only played the Sam and Max games (on PC), I'd venture a guess that Sponge Bob is more "kid friendly." Sam and Max has quite a bit of humor that younger kids won't "get," and some of the puzzles are a bit tricky. Sponge Bob has always been geared towards kids, whereas Sam and Max are not.

My fav Wii game that is fun for the whole family is De Blob- awesome game with a bajillion colors and a bouncy ball, who could want more?
