I'll do some on the way but I just want to know if you can renovate Roma before going to a new place. Seems like the whole renovating is a chore for me.

Yes you can. Even after completing the final 9th memory sync and the end, you can still explore Rome for anything missed. Feathers, Flags, renovations and Romelus dungeons. Be warned though, the only thing you can't do afterward is exit the Animus again to explore modern Monteriggioni. So once you beat the story mode, you are stuck as Ezio.

You can, but after you beaten the story/campaign you not cannot go exit the animus to play as Desmond, you are stuck as Ezio. Thats why i just renovate Roma before i start any of the missions, like you will need to get past the mission where you kill the borgia captain, and then start to renovate roma thats what i do first.

You can but remember the renovations determine how much money you get. Ezio's bank gets deposits every 40min and the renovations boost the amount. If you wait til the end, you'll have to upgrade one structure at a time and wait for the account to mature. It'll really be a chore then. The account will also help with armor and weapons.
