Question: in the game defiance, will it have some sort of mode that is not online like a campaign mode?

Answer: You'll have to pay for the game, but there won't be any subscription(just like in Guild Wars 2). It's multiplayer at all times, but there's story missions were you'll be all by yourself. The devs focused more on grand, randomly generated co-op battles, and you can join pvp games whenever you want. It seems like an mmo I might actually enjoy, and if you're curious you can apply for the beta at their website, or pre-order for a guaranteed spot in the beta.
