Answer: No I don't think it should have been kept as an exclusive to the PS3. Though as Teppoudo said if it weren't for the PS3 then Dark Souls would not have ever come to be. But let's think of Demon's Souls as the test drive, it was a big hit among the PS3 community. So now with its spiritual predecessor they made a very smart move by expanding their horizons and going to the 360 as well. The companies know that a great game cannot exist, without word of mouth.
