Answer: its definitely not the end of the series, brotherhood and revelations continue to tell the story of desmond "reliving" ezio's memories. when assassins creed three is announced a new main character will come with it, the company also stated that they had enough IDEAS to make 35 different characters so id be surprised if it ends anytime soon.
