Question: Why are Mario games still so popular?

Answer: It's freaking Mario! He takes many gamers back to a time when all you needed was a d-pad and two buttons. Mario will always have a cult following as long as his games have a touch of his mario magic be it new or old. They would have to fail hard to make a Mario game not worth playing(paper mario).
