my first suggestion would be to get to lvl 20 first, thats where i was when i beat him w/ lilith, same w/ roland. i took out the other small guys that shoot you first, then went all-out on sledge when i got him by himself

What is a good strategy to beat Skagzilla in Borderlands?

he moves slow, so just shoot the crap out of him til your shields are low then run away until the recharge. also, when he does his laser attack thing, try to shoot him in the mouth for the critical hit, makes it much quicker.
