If you can, go to the page that advertised this game. Take a screenshot of the text that told you that the ryder white, etc. content are unlocked. Contact the vendor directly with the issue.

What's a good RPG that strays away from all that magic and sorcery crap? ( PS3 )

I suspect you are asking for an RPG that has a medieval setting, but without magic. Perhaps "Assasin's Creed", not sure. A casual Google Search turned up several threads similar to your question, you could check them out. Have you considered playing something on the computer, rather than the PS3? Gog.com has a large selection of older games at very low prices, so you risk little trying them out, and many free demos are floating around. Don't forget to use "Can You Run It?" to test your machine before making a PC game purchase. Good luck in your search.
