New games are generally not in stock till at least a week after release. One very simple way to get around this is to put the game in your que 2 days before release so it will be available on the day of release for you to rent

The only reason I can think of is the achievement whores. Sometimes people will simply rent and beat a game for the notoriety of having a high score online.

If the game you want is a low availability game then it will pick the next game and send it too you until the other becomes available.

Best game of the year so far in my opinion. Some of the side quests can be a bit dull so feel free to move the story ahead since you will be able (at any time) to continue the side quests.
