Has anyone heard any plans on the current console gen getting more old school game reboots like Perfect Dark?

While nothing has been announced on Perfect Dark, Altered Beast, or Gauntlet. I wouldn't rule them out. HD remakes seem to be the next big thing as Devil May Cry 1,2,3, Metal Gear Solid 2,3 and Peacewalker, Zone Of The Enders 1 and 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Silent Hill 2, and 3 are all on the horizion. Its only a matter of time before they start dipping into other classics and bringing them to current generations of hardware.

In all honesty, I'd say just preorder it, pay it off before launch, then there's no waiting required. You just go in and pick it up. If there is some sort of crazy shortage, then your best bet would be to pay it off as soon as possible thus securing your order sooner so you'll get it sooner. :)

Almost always. Sega won't be giving up on the Blue Hedgehog anytime soon. I believe the next one is Sonic:Generations (could be wrong on the name) also there's another Sonic and Mario Olympics in the works too, think this time its in London. Aside from that there's almost always some Sonic downloadable something going on (eventually Sega will get around to Sonic 4 Episode 2..) Hope this helped!
