Ok you must be talking about X-Men: Destiny, from what I hear you are playing as a new mutant, who you control through the rest of game (from what I hear) so to answer your question, is no. They are trying something new instead of the linear gameplay from previous titles

When you send back the game to gamefly, thats when they will send you a game next on your list. If you have 2 games at once plan, and only one game got sent out, that means they couldn't get the other game out due to the high rental rate of the game. Just keep updating your list of games just in case you can get the top 2 that you want,
