No, the retail version is a stand alone game and will not require anything extra.

Afraid that Gamefly don't make games, and since the Game Boy Advance has been out of the market for over 3 years now (basically since the DSI that had dropped support for the carts). Afraid there's little that Gamefly is going to be able to do about it.
