"Get both!" Is right!!! They are totally different but both are great games. I think the best quality is the realism of these games. In MY OPINION, I would just rent CD but I would buy and keep GTA 4.

Dead space 1&2 are good options but I'm a connoisseur of anything scary. Movies, games, pictures, you name it. I truly liked the F.E.A.R. series. Try both and get back to me unless you are curled up in the corner of your badly lit basement sucking your thumb.
