Overall both of the games on this collection edition (yes, their are two of them. i know nothing about that has been specific in the description...) are very good. Back in the day i played the original versions of both of these and boy does it bring back memories. I hate long reviews so i will keep this short and give you the pro's and cons of it.

Pro's- It is one of THE BEST giant robot games ever made, hence why it had an hd collection. The fight scene animation on the melee type bosses look like something from a movie, and are just straight cool to watch. The mission play styles of the game make it great for casual play, saving your place in the story to take a break is very easy and allows you to enjoy the great writing of the story. Finally, the co-op is great the split screen works very well because of how fast the camera angles adjust during fights so you can have a great team comp with any buddy you happen to be playing with.

Con's- Even considering that their are two games on this collection, it is very short. I was able to beat it in about a week of regular casual play. Other than that the graphics are a bit better than the original ps2 version but they aren't great compared to some of the new standards we have here in 2012.

My final verdict is that it is a great game to play, and due to the short play time an even better rent. if you want a good giant robot game you can take your time finishing i would recommend this collection to you.

Very Good

Not a Bad Game!

If you like anime this game is definitely for you! Some of the cut-scenes in the first game are done in that style and all of the cut-scenes in the expansion are. On top of that the story and voices scream anime.

As far as gameplay goes it was alright. The attacks are rather limited and your opponents only get more and more difficult leaving you feeling inadequate. It certainly feels like an old-school RPG in the sense that not a lot changes. You will find yourself stuck in the same situations, with the same attacks over and over again. If you get bored with relativity easily than don't play this game.

Lastly, this is certainly a Kojima game. The art style is reminiscent of the Tanker Incident in MGS2. Also, they will give you random puzzles to solve that are key to the story with little to no clues as how to solve them.

This game is certainly for old school, patient gamers and/or Kojima fans. I suggest that you at least give this game a chance - even with it's flaws it's surprisingly entertaining for a Mecha style game.

I have enjoyed this Game very much, but do wish it can be longer.

Good:
-Great Story
-Characters are some you can like
-Fighting in this is fun, and challenging

Bad:
-Short story
-Sometimes, you do not know what the heck to do.

Overall, I would recommend this game if you're just trying to play a lot of games and want fun ones.
