You are one against thousands. One hit, you die. Once you run out of continues you are DONE. You gotta start all over. JUST LIKE THE GOOD OLE' DAYS!

Xyanide - Scrolling spaceship shooter (with a twist). Shoot in all directions, upgrade, destroy.

Graphics- 9 = Backgrounds are splendidly rendered and clean. Attacks are beautiful and bright. Enemies are... well "enemy-ish". FPS are smooth and never bogs down, even when you nuke the place clean from 30-or-so bad guys.

Gameplay- 8 = What makes this game very fun is the "mutation" system. You have two modes of firing; "mechanical" and "organic". "Mechanic" works well on large enemies or bosses, with a focused beam, but smaller baddies just laugh at it and avoid it. "Organic" sprays smaller enemies with homing laser particles that decimate their large numbers, but doesn't do as much damage to large guys and bosses. You collect powerups that "level up" whatever mode you are using, giving you powerful area affect powers.

Learning curve/Difficulty- 10 (hard) = This is a hard game. One hit, you are dead. Use up all your continues, you have to start all over again. Oh, and if you use a continue, your score goes all the way back to zero (at least you keep your powerups). The controls are simple at a glance, but when you got 8 small guys and 2 big guys on you, you gotta switch modes on the fly while avoiding fire and colliding with them. It takes a few tries to get used to it. If you are the type of person that wants to just pick up a game and master it in 5 min., THIS IS NOT THE GAME FOR YOU.

Re-playability- 6 = It's kinda short. But because it's so difficult, you'll wanna start on "really easy" and work your way up. But after your hands start cramping up you kinda wanna put it down for a while.....

OVERALL- 8 = This is a very good game for the aging (and soon extinct) X-Box. It's so hard though, that many people probably won't give it the chance to "shine". Let this game cramp your hand
