Xenosaga is one of my all time favorite games and this just doesn't live up.

Combate has been dumbed down alot. It's like a shotty Final Fantasy rip-off. They removed alot of the attacks, now character only have about two moves each and magic. For example: KOS-MOS only has R-Blade and her gattling gun then some of her other moves as magics. I remember back the first game where there used to be all kids of customisation. Gone. All Gone.

I liked how XSI had somewhat of a macabre element to it. I'll never forget how that Gnosis merged with that Mech on the Woglinday and then became a boss fight. There's nothing like this in XSIII, just some pretty monsters. I'd recomend replaying FFX before renting this.

How you learn abilities is really lame. You have a set of abilities, once you master the four abilities of that set you move on to the next. Occasional these branch into two sets so you can make your character into one of two roles(for example Shion's bro can become either an offencive or defencive character.) Even WoW's character customisation is better than this.

The plots starts strong but eventualy they bring back beloved dead characters into horrible roles. I completely lost interest when they started to time travel back to places and time we've already been to.

I wouldn't even reccomend renting this. You can do so much better for yourself.
