Presentation: Epic. Grand. Massive. Words to properly describe the world and its long list of characters presented to the player. Followed up with a constant real time environment that allows you to reach every point you see on screen and a story with enough originality t o set it apart from the typical this game shows us what Nintendo and its second party in house developers are capable of.
Game play: Constant real time battle system that allows you to place your person anywhere you need to make a critical blow. This also allows you to enter and leave battles seamlessly without loading screens, wait times or stoppages in play time. Enough customization options to keep even the most hard core gamers happy and a Affinity system that rewards you for building personal relationships among NPCs, Party members and entire towns.
Value: Here's the skinny. The main quest takes over 65 hours to complete while doing all the side quest take another 35 hours. It's easily over a hundred hours for a perfect run and over 80 for a normal gamer.
Verdict: Xenoblade Chronicles world is something to behold, with towns that bustle with life, a day and night system, wonderful engaging characters, beautiful music, rich story, real time battle system and so on and so on. If you're a RPG fan this is the best RPG released in the past decade and you'll do yourself a favor to put the time into this quality gem.
Relatively long game. Very immersive. Soundtrack is beautiful. The graphics, even though they're on the Wii and not in HD, are amazing. The characters are very very deep and likable. The plot is great with a lot of twists and surprises to keep you interested and shocked. Easily among my top 5 games of all time.
If you're looking for a great JRPG and have time to invest, then I urge you to play this game.

For a while, I've considered Tales of Symphonia my favorite RPG. I loved the story, the characters, the combat, the design, everything about that game was pure awesome.
However, after playing Xenoblade Chronicles, I'm starting to second-guess my high opinion of Symphonia. I could tell after the first major battle in Xenoblade that I was going to fall in love with this game.
The story is very well paced and you feel an emotional connection with each of the characters. Its not just a war they're fighting, its a battle for survival, a subject matter that most games nowadays do not follow unless its some alien force or undead horde being the antagonist.
The combat in this game is very reminiscent of Final Fantasy 12, but done right. I did not light FF12's combat system because the game pretty much played itself, and I hate it when games do that. But this one is active, engaging, and fun.
The world you explore in this game is nothing short of a visual spectacle. Despite the fact that the Wii is significantly less powerful versus the 360 and PS3, its still a darned good looking game. The environments are huge, and the world is gorgeous. The vibrancy, colors and scale really bring the Bionis husk to life. I consider it the best looking game on the Wii.
If you can manage to get your hands on this game, do it. Sure, it will cost a fair amount for a game released in limited quantities, but the amount of depth, story, scale, and gameplay really make for the best game on the Wii, and, in my opinion, the best RPG ever, and one of the best game ever made.
