Well once again Another Game developer falls short in what could have been a good game.
X-Blades is your typical run of the mill hack & Slash game,This game plays an looks more like it should have been on the PS2.poor upgrade system which by now should be completely re-thought of,the levels are boring and even on the hardest game difficulty the boss battles are a joke.I rated this game a 3,the trophies are easy to get a platinum on so go for it in that sense, but keep this game as a rental at best.

I can't believe this game is a finished product. With so many flaws, I found it impossible to continue playing it for more than an hour. All you do in the game is load up a closed area, fight hundreds of monsters, fight a boss in the same are, and the level is over. Rinse and repeat. A horrible, frustrating camera doesn't make things better.
I just don't get it. How can they say that this is a game worthy of release?
On the surface this game should be fun; hot anime girl, sassy attitude, hordes of monsters to butcher indiscriminately. Most of those worked for the DMC series, (Dante is definitely not a hot anime girl). But the game fails pretty much from the start. The controls are sluggish, she moves around just fine but when the Ayumi starts to swing the blades its hard to redirect the attacks as the enemies move around. Additionally, I couldn't tell what I was hitting unless I had her in the middle of a group of monsters. The shooting/targeting mechanic was pretty basic but shooting monsters seemed useless. Ayumi's spells get mapped onto specific buttons depending on your preference. However, you'll constantly remap the scheme every group of enemies. Particularly with the dragging boss fights. Control issues aside, the story and Ayumi's voice acting are so bland there is no reason to even bother caring about her or anything she has to say. As I said this game should be fun and it fails on so many levels.
