Worms one of my favs fell a little short of my exspectations. If you have never played the series before this is a fair intro. But if you know the devastation of past titles your probably like weres my holy hand grenades, where are the mega damage dealers wheres the difficult mission mode, Where I ASK is my FREAKING NINJA ROPE?????????? Anyways still liked playing it on the wii.
After Worms' shaky transition into 3D, it's refreshing to see that Team 17 remembers what made their original games fun: clever voice-acting, 2D destructible environments, insane weapons, and intuitive controls.
The Wii version of Worms has all of these, and the controls, after a minute or two of practice, are VERY intuitive. It's actually a relief, after so many recent multi-player experiences on the Wii, to return to one-handed Wiimote control.
One of the typical complaints you may hear about this game is that it's too much like previous Worms games to really differentiate itself. That's true, but kind of an odd comment; Worms games are about aiming, firing, and hoping you haven't misjudged the wind: no story necessary!
This is the only Worms game available for Wii, but it's really a very well-done one. The controls are excellent, the characters are fun, the variety is incredible, and it brings back that old "worms is awesome!" feeling.
Rent it. You owe it to yourself to give this one a shot.
