Watch_Dogs is like most Summer Blockbuster movies - Fun, but soulless. It feels like a game comprised of elements of better games, and comes across as a Jack-of-All-Trades rather than a truly excellent title.
The "open world" Chicago presented here has similarities to the Grand Theft Auto series but without any of the humor or character those titles exhibit. Chicago feels dead, with few citizens, vehicles, or diversity. Driving is a big part of this game but has a weird feel to it that leads to moments of frustration, especially when trying to elude the police/enemy.
The gameplay itself feels like a mix between Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell - You'll definitely feel the similarities in movement without the verticality or agility that makes those games fun. The map is comprised of a lot of "to-dos" but most feel like a waste of time in the same way they did in the Assassin's Creed series.
It's a solid game for sure, nothing here doesn't work pretty well but it definitely feels like the hype it's receiving is due to a dry spell for AAA titles and a large marketing budget. If going in with tempered expectations, you will probably enjoy this over the 15-30 hours it'll take you to complete.

This game has all the aspects of stealth and destruction that anyone could ever hope for. Tons of side missions and mini games to keep you from burning through the main story line. It's like GTA without all the non-sense. Amazing game. I can tell I'll be holding on to this one for a long time before mailing it back. The 100% achievement goal is in full effect!
