dude. DUDE. this game is awesome. i didn't think hack-and-slash could get any more fun than dynasty warriors 5, but this game improved on it.

let's review:

1. characters move much, much faster.
2. upgrades are done in-battle, meaning you no longer have to go through the entire battle for your character to level-up.
3. horses are INSANE FAST.
4. ability to upgrade/fuse individual weapons. this allows you to have some control over your weapons, whereas in the original series you were pretty much stuck with whatever you got.
5. ability to choose three players per level, instead of the "bodyguard" method in earlier games, you get to switch at will between 3 handpicked characters. what's more, you are free to concentrate on upgrading those specific characters if you wish.
6. quicker enemies. sometimes, in warriors 5, archers would stare at me for a full 30 seconds before deciding to let an arrow fly.

if you are even the least bit into dynasty warriors, this game is for you.

This game, while very well made, does not stray from the formula. Once again, you and your thumb will be mashing buttons as swarms of Orochi's minions try to stop you from defending the mixed world of Orochi.

The game play is very smooth and the music is a little different than normal DW/SW games. The voice acting is a little on the bad side, but it was nice to see that Koei tried to put a little more humor into the dialog.

With 90 playable characters, tons of weapons, and alternate stages you will have plenty of unlocking to do as you battle the repitition.

Overall,... it is a fun game... I would say if you like the series, give it a whirl... if you have never played, then I think you would be better off playing DW6 on 360 or PS3. If you are stuck with a PS2, then this game is a good buy.
