I was very disappointed with this game the first 30 minutes I played it. I decided to give it a chance and had a lot of fun playing it until the end. Don't just try to quickly get through the game. Try out the extra missions for more challenge. There are a couple of non-obvious tricks that really help like shaking a bomb to stop the timer or throwing a fork guy into the wall to help reach higher places.
Make sure you play through all of the tutorial level. Some of the moves are not obvious like the super ground pound that can break through metal barriers.
IGN has an OK guide. I got the Prima guide from Amazon for $13.59 which really helped me to solve a couple of tough spots. The Prima guide is very well written.
Many of the level designs are quite good. Some of the music is really great. The artwork is well done.
Overall, this game is a lot of fun for a rental. I think it is hard to justify paying $50 for this game.
Warioland:Shake it! is a fun game if you like to play brawl, mario or most nintendo games the only problem i have with this game is the length of it the game is 5 worlds or maps as they call it and you go though the game to get the pixie things then run back to the begining of the level. the boss fights are really easy and the game has missions where if you do all the missions you get the back ground music of the level it's pretty cool to get run-down peramid BGM. the game took me 5 hours to beat it was fun and i would recomend anyone to RENT this game because it is a really fun play though And thats why Warioland got a 7 out of ten
Anyone who has played the old Mario games could pick up and master this game quickly. The difference that they will notice is that you do not really get anything out of completing objectives. Which makes you not really care if you collect those 10k coins on that level for the extra challenge or just run through it as quickly as possible.
The puzzles do start to get challenging in the secret levels, but in all I think I died once and my gf died twice the whole game through. Maybe 4-5 hours of playtime if you play every level (including secret levels) rushing through. Lots more playtime (hours upon hours) if you try to achieve all the bonus objectives. The controls are real fun, but the cannon controls can be touchy sometimes when you try to aim by leaning the controller.
It was a fun game, my girlfriend loved it especially, but very short and close to no replay value. But hey, that's why you are renting it from gamefly instead of buying it. I would recommend it to any Mario 1-3 fans that would like a short game to keep them entertained.
