I bought this game new and... first it froze... and is very choppy... really sad. On to the review.
WWE Wrestlemania 21 is another sad attempt by THQ to break ground on the XBox with a wrestling game. Sadly, after this game was released I think THQ went backwards. THQ is a very reputable company and on other consoles they have no problem producing high quality games. But on the Xbox it seems to be a different story. Once the game loads you hit the Start screen. You press start.. and then you have more loading to wait before you can do anything.
Career Mode is locked until you Create-A-Wrestler. You should do this first.
If you don't have XBox Live or you just haven't signed on yet you get a pointless message telling you to sign or hit B to bypass it and have your wrestler not able to go onto XBox Live.
Creating a wrestler is really basic compared to other games. Everything is sparse because all of the good stuff is locked and you have to go through career mode to unlock it.
You've created a wrestler and now it's time to go into the career mode.
The career mode is very interesting. It has been updated with new voices and actual acting has been added. Your wrestler in the beginning is very pompous causing you to have no friends. And as you make your way throughout the mode things start to change.
Gameplay itself is really choppy. You can actually see the difference between when the user is controlling the move and when it's taken over by animation. The CPU is relatively easy unless you're extremely unmatched. Gameplay if you like the genre is fun for a while but this game would be the last game I would suggest for a new gamer to this genre.
Career Mode: 6
Gameplay: 5
Overall: 5
