I am going to be extremely honest here. The game has done a lot of advancements. The graphics and sound are superb. Load times are minimal compared to other iterations. The texture of the characters is extremely smooth and runs very well with the frame rate. This is a very polished game. My quarrel with this game is the game play and the lacking story line. I will be honest I personally think the best controls this game has ever had was in its 2007 iteration. THQ has tried changing something that in my opinion was perfect so that they could fit the power moves. They have also done something I am completely against. They have cut the story modes down to 6 people. In other words you can only choose 6 superstars(CM Punk, Triple H, John Cena, Undertaker, Shawn Micheals and a tag team of Batista and Rey Mysterio). So now they are forcing you to pick one superstar of their choosing and do that story. Before you were able to pick your favorite superstar and experience a long branching storyline. It was fun to play when they gave you choices. Here they do not give you any choices. Instead they give you bonus objectives like beat your opponent in less time then your last opponent or use your finisher 2 times on your opponent. I did not get the chance to try the online mode so I will not review that or talk about it. They do have a new tag team story mode for online players. So to finish up I think this game is a completely weak version compared to its predecessors. It seems like the games are going backwards in terms of fun factor then taking leaps to the future. I am still a big WWE fan and will be for years and just like in with this game I will sit and watch the shows and play the games in hopes that we get something better.

i think they messed the game up. i am a wwe fan and was looking forward to the 09' wwe game. but ather playing it for a few hrs, its all about the same, and most of the moves r the same, they should have it live if u want to say something or interfere in a match then do it, have a open world to the wwe game, where u can be nobady to superstar to g/m and then own wwe.
I did not rent nor buy last years SVR but I thought I would give this year's game a chance. I feel like it's the same thing I have been playing since the first set of games came along. The 'Road to WrestleMania' was interesting and a little entertaining but overall I would have to say that this game was a let down.
