The Smackdown vs Raw series has once again stepped up and showed us why there the best wrestling title to own. As a fan of the series when it first started on the PS1 or my generation, the PSX, Smackdown was the beginning of a revolution. From the very first one all the way to the current, we saw the huge difference in graphics and gameplay. I admit every time they release a new one the graphics get better, but thats where the game gets dull in some ways. Sure having good graphics is good but that can only get you so far. I'm from the days where the best games were based on 8-bit, 16-bit systems. Sure its easy on the eyes but come on, stop with the graphics and focus on what made the series great in the first place. My complaint about the game isn't the graphics, its the gameplay. Sure the idea of having tag finishers is cool but come on, you should have included that feature in the previous games. The Create-a-finisher is fun but you can only do so much until you get bored of coming up with new finishers. Another new feature is the long awaited Inferno Match, but now that we have it, its nothing more than a mediocre attempt of having on the game case the distinction of saying "And now introducing the long awaited, Inferno match." Seriously guys, come on, once again, a feature that should have made an entry in the previous installments. The Career Mode is long and tedious and never ends. It gets boring pretty quick. Unless you want to keep beating on the same wrestlers. The Road To Wrestlemania mode is a cool idea but even that can't save it. I mean come on, why remove the 24/7 Mode from the last one. That mode was something worth playing. So with that being said, this game is better as a rental because you can unlock and complete this thing within a week. I did and if you can do that, then well play the TNA Impact game because at least that game is a challenge and will take you awhile to beat. Stick to Smackdown Vs Raw '08. Seriously.
