Odd concept and very repetitive

Well as a fan of simulation games like rollercoaster tycoon and sim city I thought I might like this cartoony simulation game. Unfortunately it was just too weird.
As others have said, the game suffers from a target audience identity problem. While the gameplay concept is too simple and repetitive for adult gamers, it's also to difficult to learn how to be successful at the game for young children.
Within a couple hours I amassed probably 35 or 40 different types of pinata species in my tiny little garden and actually maxed the population out. I was forced to sell some of them to make room for the new ones. One thing I dont get though it who in the right mind would throw a party and want a pinata of a worm or spider? And since when do pinatas inhabit gardens based on food supply? This game is just such a strange concept. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of the game: planting seeds, watering, seeing what requirements are needed for more pinatas and breeding them with rated PG "romance dance".
The bright point of this game is that it was fun to play with my 3 year old because he liked the little cut scenes when a new pinata came. That fun lasted for about 2 solid hours until I couldn't stand it anymore and he lost interest. At that point their were just too many species and it seemed like every 2 minutes I was getting a new one and seemed like that was all the game really had to offer.
Overall, I think the average gamer will enjoy somewhere between 1 to 4 hours of entertainment before they get bored of this title. If you are looking for something different that you can play for an evening with your young kids, it might be worth a gamefly rent, but you'll likely be popping it back in the mail the same day. Not one to buy.
