I cleverly picked this up as present for my girlfriend, while intending to check it out for myself.
Once you get past a lengthy, but good tutorial, the game starts to come together rather quickly. Breed Pinata animals, plant fruits and vegetables, build ponds, and develop a garden full how ever you like. The more you try the different options out, the more Pinata move in.
This game is great, and it provides many hours of playtime. You could earn every achievement (I am not even close) and still want to play more.
There are 2 downsides despite my perfect scoring. First, this is a little too much for a youngster, but they combat that by allowing parents to power up another controller and help out. Hopefully the parent won't have too much fun themselves and take over. Second, I periodically have Pinata become invisible. They are there, but I cannot see them.
Viva Pinata is a misunderstood game. Behind it's Gamefly 8.2 grade it really is a 1. In the game you build a pinata farm. That's nothing like The Sims instead you build for the Pintos, house the pintos, and attract the pintos to your farm. You also have an annoying little girl who chuckles "he, he, he,". This game has NO interaction whatsoever. This is why I gave the game a 1 out of 10.
