I am a HUGE fan of the Xbox 360 Viva Pinata. I think it's one of the games that I loved the most in 2007. I rented the DS version to see if it captured the magic. It tried...
The DS version remained mostly true to the 360. The problems came when transferring the picture and action from a 48-inch TV to a 4-inch DS monitor. The details are so tiny that it's almost impossible to enjoy the game. You lose the affection you have for any of your pinatas when they are smaller than M&Ms.
If you're going to play the game, go all out and play the Xbox 360 version. You'll enjoy it a lot more and get the true experience.
