I bought this game based entirely on reviews that all seem to claim this as one of the best PSP titles. It seemed so full of promise and great playability, depth, great graphics, that I couldn't resist. But man was that a mistake! Always Rent first! That said, this game although competent, is pretty weak. Yes you have some entertaining mini games that improve your skills and earn you credit, but it's still just a beefed up pong but with some real name players, and shinny impressive graphics. Overall the controls are very good and responsive. The sound even is up to good standards, but the fun factor here is so low that unless you are a huge tennis fan or want a so called "Next Gen" version of pong , just forget it. Maybe rent and you'll decide you love it and the paid critics are right? But please approach this with caution. It is not for everyone, and in my opinion quite overrated.
If you like tennis, you'll like this game. It's really fun and doesn't get boring, because as you continue to play you improve your overall score. I would definitively recommend this to anyone. My only negative point is that some parts are confusing (for example I have NO idea on how actually to play a match in the professional mode). Also, some parts seem impossible. Though that's what I like about this game: It starts out hard but then you improve.
