Man I remember playing the original VT on the arcade and wasting so much $1 bills on it. The game was so fluid and the graphics at the time were insane. The home ports on the PS2 were decent and the wacky mini-game training always broke up the monotony.
But this one on the Xbox 360 is plain bad. It has fallen off and Top Spin is the new king. Can't see much I do like about the game except for the decent min-games and career mode, but when you get into the game, ugh... it's awful.
Graphics are horrible as if they were ported FROM the PS2. I keep scratching my head thinking "really Sega? this is a Xbox 360 game?" The gameplay is pretty sketchy, the opponent is unbelievably fast going from sideline to sideline hitting desperation shots, this making winning a single point a 5 minute affair. The fluidity of the game is poor. Ball boys have too animations, sitting and standing, as if someone forgot to fill in the rest of the motions in the flip book.
Overall I rate it a 4, decent mini-games and a good career mode. Get into the game and then we're in trouble.
