Surprisingly this game has a decent plot, what I like about it is the animation, the game runs very smoothly and the graphics, I feel, are very impressive. The combat is intrinsically visceral, i.e. when you disembowel a zombie you actually sever limbs accompanied by blood spray, unlike in most games where a character simply bleeds and falls down. You can explode a man's head by hitting it. Playing on normal difficulty the game is fairly simple to beat, there are difficult points such as boss battles in which your subjugated minions are little help to you, but this is a roadblock that can easily be solved by thinking through the situation. If for no other reason than the game could be played for the achievements it yields, and those themselves are acquired with relative ease. The plot itself is fair, running along the lines of the ancient Scandinavian mythology it was based upon, I feel a little more care could have been taken when dishing out the story, but the character defects among the game are so minor that only one well read in Scandinavian lore would pick up on them... Still, I would rather see the main character utilise Mjolnir, Huginn and Munin as they were, two Odin's carrion birds and the Thunder God's hammer, not just a few rocks named after them. All in all though, the game runs smoothly and for the most part the plot does too.
