Beginning his seventh year at Coolidge College, graduation is the furthest thing from Van Wilder's (Ryan Reynolds) mind. Slacking in style with a personal assistant and a cutie in every corner of the campus, Van is a living legend for throwing the most rockin' parties Coolidge has ever seen. When his parents refuse to pony up for more years of Van's life of leisure studies, Van does what he knows best: plan parties for profit to support his lifestyle. Critical school journalist, Gwen Pearson (Tara Reid), decides to do a disapproving expose piece on Van, sparking a clash of wills between the two that turns into an unexpected romance.
