I'll confess: I only played the tutorial. But that was enough. Here were the problems:
1) You have to find the clues in the order they want you to. That means that you can search in a section that contains a clue and it'll tell you that it doesn't just because you haven't found what it wanted you to find FIRST. This has the potential to lead to tons of backtracking and re-checking every single thing you've already searched, which kills an adventure game for me.
2) There was some kind of section where it wanted me to enter a word. It wasn't a word that was spelled out explicitly, so if you use a synonym or mis-spell it or something, it seems like you'll be crawling at the walls
3) The textures are all drab and dingy. Things don't pop up well at all in your pixel hunting.
All in all this seemed like an adventure game that forgot it was supposed to be fun.
