Jet Li is Danny, unwillingly imprisoned and raised as an enforcer for his gangster "Uncle" Bart (Bob Hoskins). Bart rules the roughest parts of Glasgow by turning Danny loose whenever someone needs to be punished, attacking often, killing when necessary. A chance encounter with blind piano tuner, Sam (Morgan Freeman), lets Danny experience compassion for the first time. When a mob coup separates Danny from Bart, Sam and his stepdaughter, Victoria (Kerry Condon), take him in. While Danny grows increasingly comfortable in his new life, it won't be long before Bart and his goons come calling. There's also the matter of the mysterious collar he wears around his neck. Danny will confront his past and fight one last fight, this time to save his newfound family and his freedom.
