While this game is excellent as far as the idea (two brothers and one of their wives coming back from the dead, making lots of zombies), in the end the sloppy camera, frantic layout of the buttons and the fact that it just gets a bit too repetitive really hampers it on the whole.
Graphics are good for a PSP game, rivaling a mid level PS2 release. Everything is a little blocky but animations are fluid and easily match the characters motion. Even watching the zombies you chopped the arm off accidentally still stagger towards the target is well done.
Gameplay is a little more of a problem. Camera is excessively lazy but the usual refocus button actually is mapped as the command undead button. The usual attack button is jump, the usual cancel is creating undead... See? It is the little things that add up to sort of doom this game.
Characters are interesting but nothing that you can care for as you start the game. No real connection other than a text filled/narrated recap of history means that you are going to have to take someones word that you should care. Upgrading the characters is the most interesting part, unlocking moves and abilities with Dark Soul points. While I am not a huge fan of this, it is in the vein off some of the other beat 'em up games that I have played in the past.
Bottom line, rent this game and see if it is for you but I can assure you that this game isn't for everyone. Sad too, I was expecting a little more out of this one...
