Great setpieces, muddled execution

Pros: Brilliant cinematic setpieces, including a gunfight / escape from a capsizing oceanliner
Cons: Controls seem less responsive than 2; assorted quirks / bugs mar gameplay; storyline less than compelling
Uncharted 3 continues the tradition of the first two, but loses something in the process. Controls aren't as tight, leading to several accidental deaths, and hit detection is off just enough to be frustrating in some of the more frantic gunfights. NPCs are tightly scripted rather than "fluid" (a stealth takedown of a lone guard in the middle of blowing sand 50+ yards away from any other NPC resulted in a full camp alert), and the cover mechanic hasn't aged well. None of these are deal-breakers in and of themselves, but taken together they result in a game that delivers lots of "thrill" moments, but makes you work to get to them.
