Ultimate Spider-man puts you in the feet of Peter Parker from the Ultimate Series Spider-Man books.

In the game you start of with some training to familiarize yourself with the combat buttons and your web shooting powers.

The Cinematics in this game make it feel as if you were reading a moving comic book, we all know how that feels. Heads turn mouths move, and people talk.

before you can actually complete the story in this game you have to do "City Goals" these are things such as races, Being a hero *where you go and save people* and doing "Combat Tours". So if you want to finish another story mode after the one you just finished.. your going to have to do some more Superhero work. or in Peters Case, Teenage Super Hero. Yes, He's' a kid.

This is a nice game you can free roam anywhere in a selected part of new york. where you can swing from buildings and into alleys where you might find a token. There are three three types of special tokens. Comic Cover Tokens, Landmark tokens, and Secret Tokens. All tokens go to help you unlock something in the Unlocks area.

In the Unlocks section of your start menu, you can select from, Characters, Costumes, Concept art, Comic Book Covers, Landmarks, and an X-men Video game Trailer.

Not only do you play as Peter Parker in this game.. but you play as Venom, who is a very Muscular Pitch Black monster that eats people and jumps from building to building.

When you play as venom very few things are alike to spider man. Because Venom cannot swing with spider webs, and he lacks the Spidey senses.

Well to Find out more about this game you have to rent it and play it.

Happy Webbing.

One of the only reasons I bought this game was because I wanted to play as best spiderman character Venom. One problem is he is too slow and you have to win the game to get the white spider on his costume. I thought the graphics were great but you also have to beat the game to switch between spiderman and venom freely. I suggest renting it because once you get the hang of chases its easy.

Ultimate Spider-Man is set in an open-ended New York City similar to that of Spider-Man 2, but some things have changed. The first thing you'll notice is that the graphics are cell-shaded, comic book style, which I think fits the source material better than in previous video game iterations. Second, you'll notice that the story is completely original and will keep your interest. But, sadly, the web mechanics work better and worse than those in Spider-Man 2 (some things work, others don't) and the game play will seem repetitive after a while (do good deeds, chase the villain, beat the villain, rinse, repeat). And the Venom levels aren't much different (do bad things, chase the hero, beat the hero, rinse, repeat). Unfortunately, once the story is over (6 hours or so), the only thing to do is compete in races, which, honestly, are frustratingly hard to medal in. Try getting a bronze in hard races and you'll see. And sadly, the rewards for doing these races are virtually non-existent. Still, for the story and the overall comic book presentation, this is a good pick for a boring weekend or a fan of the source material.
