To be honest i took a gamble trying this out because im horrible on the capcom vs series so i stick with mortal kombat. its actually an easy game to play on the vita. graphics are really good also an controls pretty much are easy if your familiar to the series. only thing is the touch control i may not of had patience to look hard but i didnt see anything on how to use it to fight not that i really wanted. overall its a buy if you like fighting games and its easy to find someone online threw wifi to fight
In full disclosure I am not a big fan of the fighting genre. However, this was a popular title and I wanted to try it out for my Vita. I think the game is fairly well made....I just didn't enjoy the game enough to play more than a couple matches.
If you are fan of the fighting genre I'm sure you'll like this title.

I will admit I'm not the BIGGEST Fighting game player. In fact I'm pretty much a noob but I've played other fighting games and this one is just annoying for me and not fun at all. I can't work out how to do combos and all I'm doing half the time is wildly mashing buttons and doing super moves by accident. I can't even figure out half the commands (like freaking BLOCKING) even looking at the manual and the touch screen version wasn't working when I tried it. The training option is a joke and pointless as far as I can tell since it donesn't explain comands and even the missions where you can practice each combo move for ALL the different characters doesn't provide a good explanation on how to do it. I've played DBZ Boudikai which also uses combo moves using certain directional inputs and as a PS2 game that feels 10 times easier to do than this game. Perhaps I'm just stupid but I just couldn't figure it out. Maybe people who are used to capcom vs marvel controls will have no problem and have a great time but I have to say the game is rather unforgiving to someone completely new to the series and doesn't offer a lick of help in my opinion.
This game I didn't mind too much. It's basically a lot of well known superhero's against a bunch of characters I've never heard of. For a PSP game I found it to be pretty entertaining because I can take it on the go, however I don't know if playing it on Playstation that it would keep my interest. There are certian characters that when you are playing the game can be glitchy. Dr.Doom's back missle attack is the biggest glitch. You just have to shoot the missles the entire game and the other 3 characters will not be able to attack you (lame) other than that the game I found to be very difficult. I can't seem to win unless I go perfect with Dr. Doom, Rocket Racoon and Tron. But overall a pretty good PSP game

I tried this and I don't like fighting games but I was really impressed with the graphics and gameplay I only really like 3 fighting maps so I will probably not finish it before I send it back but I would recomend this to people who are hardcore but for me its Raymin all the way :)!
Fun to play for a few hours until it gets repetitive or cheesy. Graphics are great and the amount of characters to choose from is crazy. The online took a while to find players. Overall 7/10 not really a game I'd want to buy because once you beat arcade mode a few times it gets boring.
Another great game for the Vita. Even more, all the touches I experienced on the ps3 are here.
My online experience was laggy but with due respect, I wasn't in the place to play anyways.
All the characters are here and straight for the fun. Alot of "missions" just feel like a training mode either way.
Don't want to sound negative but that is all that is wrong with the game.
This one is a library keeper.
UMVC3 is a good game for people a fan of the series, but for the casual fighter, this game doesn't have much to offer. Offline mode has Arcade, but no VS mode, which doesn't make sense bcos most fighting games have a VS mode. Challenge mode is just techinally a mode where you just try to do combos, which is fine for people who like that sort of thing, but I find it boring. Online is just full of try-hards and no-lifes, so don't waste your time. I like the Heroes and Heralds mode, but the thing is, you can't choose simple mode when choosing your characters, so you have to fight against characters of increasing difficulty without help and you have to try to get 100% of an area to conquer, but if you lose you lose some control of that area. This game is good for fans, but if you don't like this game series or fighting games, this game won't make you a fan. I reccomend Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend instead.
