Doesnt even look that great

This is one of those games that could have gotten away with being released on the original xbox. aside from some of the shaders this is essentially what it is. The dynamic shadows and even AI programming remind me of that of a poorly designed Original xbox game. Many of the levels are even badly designed, you often get lost because there arent any hints to what you can do in the game, they just expect you to know. One part expects me to know I can scale a wall when it doesnt appear any of the standardized icons shown throughout the rest of the game, I just had to mash the action button while I ran around in circles.
The control mechanisms are also fairly broken. aiming is a very challenging task because you'll let go of the thumbstick and you'll continue to aim left/right. other times you'll let go where you absolutely need to and it will rebound back the other direction slightly.
Visuals - 2 out of 10
lacking high resolution textures or even simple dynamic shadows, this game amazes me to be expected so highly. I've heard so much about how great it looks and it doesnt even look like there's a decent antialiasing system for the framerate. shame on you codemasters....
gameplay - 6 out of 10
Broken sensitivity and dumb AI make me want to only play this once. Having enemies stare straight at me while crouching out in an open street just screams "Stupid soldier". I'm pretty sure a real german would storm through with more than just himself. I'd expect a whole platoon...
Concept - 9 out of 10
I like the idea of breaking the mold of the standard WWII game.... Too bad it didnt deliver a good game with the concept... maybe someone else will bring a new freshness to the genre... maybe...
all in all it's rentable, but I dont see myself finishing this game. Expect the same if you get it.
