True Crime: Streets of LA for PlayStation 2 Reviews by Gamers

This was a pretty good game. It does have some flaws though. The driving in the game feels stiff and clunky. It takes a bit to long for the target to get on the criminals. There are also some glitches with you going through walls. The fighting system doesn't seem to work all that well. This game is kinda short I beat it with all three endings in about 13 hours altogether But besides all that this game is pretty fun. It has a good story and three endings for you to get. The replay value isn't very high though once you beat it it seems that there is nothing to do and it gets boring.
P.S For everyone out there comparing this game to Grand Theft Auto, DON'T you will be very disappointed. Grand Theft Auto, in my opinion, is the best game of this genre. So DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT compare to GTA. This game may play like GTA but it isn't even in the same league. So if you want to rent this game because you thought that it would be exactly like GTA don't.

It's a lot more. Survival in this city requires a little more brainpower
than just finding a bigger Gun! You have to watch the little radar screen
and think ahead. Tho' I agree the driving is sometimes clunky, it's a
small caveat. The city is really detailed and tho' there are no Helicopters
to fly, you do get a wide choice of vehicles. I found it just gritty enough
to be off-putting. I am, needless to say, glad I am not the main character in this game. But that's another story.

Comparisons to G.T.A. are inevitable and I'll say that the missions are mini-missions with varied crimes and criminals to put away. I found it
very satisfying to try to cuff criminals rather than blow everyone away.

True Crime LA transports the player and definitely suspends the disbelief with enough cues to keep one guessing. I rate it an 8.
